If you are looking for a funky new sound, you must look beyond New York's Greenwich Village. This neighborhood has been the stomping grounds of some of the great voices of the counterculture music of the twentieth century such as Bob Dylan. Today, much of Greenwich Village, and as much of New York is gentrifying, but that does not means that there is still a thriving independent music scene on the island of Manhattan. If you are looking for a record label of New York indie, not have to look far away.

First, New York is full of bars, restaurants, and clubs that want to attract customers by offering live music. That means that on any given night, there will be hundreds of bands, solo acts, and singers from all over New York. Any of them is also hoping to get a contract indie New York record company.

Many major record labels have found a home in New York and maintain offices in Los Angeles too. However, New York, independent record labels are a general phenomenon, the east coast. For example, Def Jam Records, Bad Boy Records and Roc-A-Fella Records All began as a pioneering independent labels sound known as the East coast rap. Today, some record labels indie New York with the largest presence are meat Shark Records Dollatarian and Team Love Records. Of course, there are literally hundreds of others.
